can I renew a passport immediately if I go to the passport office?

I want to know if it is possible to wait while a passport is renewed if I go to the passport offic.

1. Without knowing what country your in there is no sensible answer. In the UK the answer is NO. For the rest of the world, your guess is as good as mine. Ian M
2. Thee are 13 Regional Passport Agencies in the U.S. You can call, make an appointment, go, wait and get your passport the same day. You must be able to prove you must travel in 2 weeks or less. See 1st site below for locations of the Passport Agencies and 2nd site for how to call for an appointment. Otherwise, you can apply through the post office, pay for expedited service and for express mail and get it in 2 to 3 weeks. I am presuming you are American since you entered your question from the U.S.
