Passport Office

How can I obtain an emergency US passport without using an online application?

I'm getting married in October and have been trying to get a passport for almost 3 months now. It seems there is always some form of identification missing. Currently I am waiting on the final piece (my state ID) to apply. But now it is too late to apply through the post office. We've sent three emails to the Passport Agency in Chicago and a few to 24 hour places in Detroit. My fiance has to return to Norway on October 7 with or without me. Once he is gone I will not have a place to stay. Does anyone know who I can ask for help? I do not want to use an online service. Is there someone who can help me get a rushed passport? It seems that all the people who have the authority to help are not willling to. We've inquired about the expedited passport at the post office but it will take too long. We've contacted a local court house and they said use the post office. We've tried a passport agency and they are ignoring us. Please HELP!

  1. Your congressman can actually help you with that. Did you ask him or her? (I know you've explored many many options, so please forgive me if I suggested something you've already tried.) Expediting it is also good. I suggest you do that anyway, even if there isn't much faith in it. I got mine in a week when I did, but once again, luck of the draw. But it's worth a shot. Also see if you can have it FedExed.
  2. Unfortunately the minimum amount of time you can expect to receive a U.S. passport is three weeks using the expedite service (see first link). If you are lucky you may get it sooner but there is no guarantee. If you have a passport emergency and are traveling within 14 days then call National Passport Information Center and speak to Customer Service Representative, they can give you the all the help they can, for the number see the second link.
