Passport Office

The passport office has rejected my application because they say ?

my name sounds too stupid, and have sent me a list of twelve similiar sounding acceptable names to pick from, can I appeal against this and have them send me a bigger list of names ?

1. what? is this for real?...what about all of these quirky celeb names? or obscure ethnic names from Temor or whatever? Appeal mate.

3. In the UK they will except any legal name - i.e. that your where given or changed via deed poll.

11. if its the name on your birth certificate or legally changed document they cant refuse it.
12. If that's the name you were born with, I can't believe the passport office would "make fun" of it!!! Anyway, just a thought, if they don't like it, I would go ahead and pick a well known name, such as Du Pont,Clinton, Bush, etc -- I would nix Obama, cos that one doesn't sound right to me, I'm suprised they haven't asked HIM to pick an English sounding name! -- a new name could possible open new doors for you! Don't feel bad, I have supposedly a "normal" surname, and I'll be jiggered! NOBODY gets it right!!!

17. i know for sure you are making it up. The PPt agency has nothing to do with your name- what you are called, you are! i see 1000 passports a day at work and have seen all the names in the plannet, all spellings and sounds, all types of arrangements (some countries have 6 names or more) and nothing amazed me!
