Can you wait in line at the passport office in SF without an appointment and renew in less than 2 weeks?
I need to renew my passport in less than 2 weeks. I can't get an appointment at the SF passport office in time. I heard you can just spend the day in line and maybe renew quickly.

- It's not likely that you will be able to renew in 2 weeks no matter what. The last I heard was that the rush renewal took 3-4 weeks to complete. I managed to renew mine in 2 weeks but only because I happened to be working at the Capitol Building in a position where I could run my paperwork from office to office to expedite the process.
- No. If you go to their page it says very clearly BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. "Note: Please do not arrive more than fifteen minutes prior to your appointment because early arrivals will not be admitted and there is no waiting area in the lobby... " However, if you cannot make an appointment, then google passport fast renewal and you'll find at least three services that will get your passport renewed in a day.
