Can the passport office track my lost passport for me?
I have lost my passport. It has a chip in it, not sure if its a GPS thing or just for storing information, does anyone know if the passport office can track it?

- No, it doesn't have GPS.
- It is not a GPS chip. It simply holds information that can be read by the proper scanner. Have you reported this loss yet? If not, do so immediately. In any case, once reported as being lost, it is no longer valid. Even if you found it, or it was returned to you, it would not be any good. You have to apply for a new one.
- Your Passport does not have a GPS, it has a chip which stores the same data visually displayed on the photo page of the passport, and additionally includes a digital photograph. But you should definitely report your lost passport using the DS-64 form. You can report it and replace it at the same time. There are also passport expediting companied if you need a passport quickly.
