hey folks i'm american any way just let you know i'm in mexico city but i don't have my us passport to go back so what are they doing with the people who doesn't have a passport just yet for whatever reasons i mean do we have to pay like a fine or do the take you to hail i mean what exactly are they doing to us because i don't think at this date most of americans have a passport.

Actually a lot of Americans have a passport. But I'm pretty sure that they just won't let you pass without a passport. I think you can just go get one at Walgreens or something.
you NEED a passport to get back into the US. and on the contrary, most americans DO have a passport these days because they are necessary to travel in between countries. My question is, how did you get into mexico city? because if you flew they usually check to make sure you have a passport for when you come back.
how did you get out of the country without a passport? because you need a passport to get back into the us now from any country no matter how you travel...good luck enjoy mexico it sounds like its your new home!

Go to the US embassy and their passport office. They'll get you a temp. pass to use crossing the border. It'll cost a little to do it.
do as many others do, cross the border illegally! Should be easy, just follow the crowds!
you need to go to the closest US embassy in order to get your passport. you probably will have to explain why you dont have it.
You need proof of identity and proof of citizenship http://www.getyouhome.gov/html/lang_eng/index.html If you have an enhanced drivers license, you should be ok
