passport application?
I was born in the U.S and would like to apply for a U.S passport the only problem is that on my birth certificate my mom's last name was spelled wrong. She got married a few years back and i wanted to knoe when i fill out my passport application should i put her married name or the one that';s spelled wrong on my birth certificate?

- I would first get your birth certificate corrected, then there will be no problem.
- Change the Birth Cert. You may encounter come problems if you don't.
- Get the birth certificate changed at once. It has to be accurate. And then when applying for the passport, show them the copy of where you are getting the correction, if you need the passport now. It should take only a short time for the correction, so hop on it NOW. Contact usimmigrationsupport. org to have your question answered as to the spelling, because if you do it wrong, they will put you through the whole process again, and you will have to pay again. Ask immigration, not us, because we aren't the experts, they are. And believe me, they don't care if you do it wrong, they just make you start over, pay again, and get in line again.
