Where would I find U.S. passport information from the 1920's? I'm researching a family tree and came across a passport on Ancestry.com, there is a picture attached but on the back side of the passport page. It dosent show me the picture or the back page. How or Who do I contact to possibly get a copy of this with the picture?
What information is on a U.S. Passport? Such as name, country, DOB, POB, etc.? On that first page. No, I'm not counterfeiting. This is for a homework assignment --my geography teacher is having us do a scavenger hunt tomorrow and we need to make "passports" to the different "countries (different classrooms throughout campus)". Probably the most immature thing I've done in high school. But hey, we get out of class. I can't find my actual passport and neither can my dad, but I want to get the information that's actually on a US passport on my project. So if you have your passport on hand, I'd appreciate it. I'm NOT asking you to give out any personal information -- just asking what personal information I should write on the project. Thanks! BTW. I wasn't getting any results in the Homework Help section. I realize what section I'm putting this in. Thank you SO MUCH Bob.
When customs scans your passport at the airport, what are they checking for? I understand that no record of your travel history is maintained. So what are they checking for? To see if the passport is valid? Or if you have a warrant outstanding? PLOTS collects and maintains records related to applications for U.S. passports. PLOTS does not monitor or record in any way the travel of U.S. citizens. Sources of the information are U.S. citizens applying for passports, other Department of State computer systems, passport specialists, and fraud prevention managers. I've heard people say that The State Department keeps a record of your travels. The State Department says they do not.
How do you renew your U.S. passport and what things do you need to have with you durring this process? I am 16 and i am going to Japan on this 16th of June 2008 and I need to renew my passport. i already have one from when i was a kid and now i need to renew. My old one is like 10 years old and i figured i would start this process early in case it takes an extended amount of time. I know i need my birth certificate but what i don't know is where to go to even get my passport??? Or do i send it in to a place is there a website??? any information is greatly appreciated (i am a US citizen born in the U.S. btw) any help or advice will be great thanks!
Is it illegal to make a photocopy of my U.S. passport for my personal use? I want to travel and make sure I have a backup in case I lose my passport and need to prove my citizenship while overseas. The State Dept. website states the following "If you can provide the U.S. embassy or consulate with a photocopy of your passport identification page, that will make getting a new passport easier since your citizenship and identity information would be more readily available." - http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/emergencies/emergencies_1197.html Yes, the State Dept. suggests it, but does that mean it is legal or illegal? Many photocopy places (i.e. Kinkos) state that you can not use their machines to make copies of IDs. Again, this does not clarify the legality issue. Any help would be great.

Will I be able to travel freely through Europe and Asia with a U.S. passport, even though I have a felony? I have obtained an American Passport already. My question is whether or not other countries will let me in to visit. I am a professional Chef who wishes to travel through Italy, France, Germany, Prauge, Greece, Holland, England, Russia, Ireland, China/Tibet, Thailand, and Japan. U.S. Passport? Have heard conflicting information. Do I need a passport to go into Canada and return to U,S. in 2007?
Does the initial trip information on the passport application matter? I'm from the U.S. and I'm applying for a passport for a trip to Romania in Sept. It asks the date of the trip, how long the stay, and countries you are visiting... I'm unsure of how long I'll be staying so I put the maximum for a stay without a VISA, 90 days. What happens if i decide to extend and get a VISA and stay longer than 90 days?

A U.S. passport-holding minor child travelling from Japan with relative? What documentation is needed for me to travel to Japan to see my nephew (who lives abroad with his American mother and Japanese father) and return with him to the U.S.? He is a minor who holds a U.S. Passport. Do I need a consent letter from his parents allowing me to enter the country with him? Any information would be greatly apprciated. :)
IS IT POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN A U.S PASSPORT FOR AN ILLEGAL CA RESIDENT? Hi everyone, Good news! I have been offered a job in London, England and would like to know a couple of things. Since I am leaving with my entire family of 4, my domestic partner is also moving with me. However, he entered the states illegally and has not yet fixed his status. Would it affect at all the eligibility for a work permit for England if he doesn't have any U.S passport or legal right to be in the U.S? or what should we do in order to obtain one. He won't be looking to obtain u.s residence or citizenship. We are actually leaving permanently. However, after training we need to comeback to u.s to prepare for relocation in the uk. so basically he only needs a passport to comeback for a short period of time. Please only provide knowledgeable information, and all answers are appreciated. SO IS IT POSSIBLE TO LEAVE AND COME BACK TO THE US FROM THE U.K WITH A MEXICAN PASSPORT? LIKE I SAID, IS FOR A TERM SHORTER THAN A MONTH AND ONLY TO MANAGE RELOCATION TO THE U.K ANSWERS: There is no need to offend anyone here, if you do not have a constructive answer, I am not interested in hearing it. My question goes only to civilized people with intent to help. I do not tolerate uncouth individuals and would rather not have them participate.
First time getting U.S. Passport? I need to get a passport and I have a few questions that I cannot find an answer to on any site, so I need someone's help that has some experience. 1. Do the post offices have applications on site, or do I need to get one before I go there? 2. Does a U.S. passport allow me to travel outside of the country or only in the U.S.? If the details about the post office say "photo on site", does that mean that they can take my picture there? 3. How long can I stay in another country with a passport? 4. I have my original birth certificate, but some of the words are unclear because of age and wear. Do I need to ask the state for a copy? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks! The registration number I believe is a little smudged and you can't read all of the numbers in it. Are you saying that if I want to fly within the the United States, I don't need a passport? I thought you had to have one to get on any plane?
how do I get to find out my passport number? I have had a u.s. passport for along time and I need to apply for another one because it has been misplaced or stolen and maybe even expired. So can you get me a form that will help me find this information out?
If I was born in the U.K. to a British Mother and an American father in 1978, do I have British Citizenship? Hello, I was wondering if someone could help to answer a question for me... with a couple sub-questions (sorry). I was born in the U.K. in 1978 to a British mother and an American father. My mother was born there and spent her entire life in the U.K. until she met my father who was stationed in England as a member of the United States Air Force. We moved to the U.S. in 1984 and I am a United States citizen with a U.S. passport. I have copies of my original British birth certificate. My mother is now an American citizen. I am thinking of applying for a British passport and British Citizenship but want to know if I am eligible or not, or if I am automatically a British Citizen by birth since I was born in England prior to 1983. If I do qualify for British citizenship, do I have to swear allegiance to the British crown? I am asking this because it states in U.S. passport guidelines that an individual may lose his/her American citizenship if they swear allegiance to a foreign government. I do not wish to lose my American passport or citizenship, I want to become a dual citizen, carrying both passports with the ability to reside and work in either place, access NHS services if I happen to become sick while in the U.K., etc. I realize that the U.S. supposedly does not recognize dual citizenship but that the U.K. does. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
passport picture for children under 5 yeas of age? Hello my son has the U.S passport that is valid for 5 years. The picture in his passport is from his baby days (20 days old) now he is 4 years and 7 months old, and of course today he doesn't look nowhere close to what he looked when he was 20 days old. So my question is will this create any problems at the airports, even if his passport did not expire yet, or does he need a new passport? Also where can I get more information about this situation?

If you are a foreigner with a passport can you legally work in the U.S.? Do you need a visa to legally work in the U.S. or is a passport enough? HOW CAN MY HUSBAND GET PROOF HE ENTERED U.S. LEGALLY? My husband entered the U.S. as a student in 2003. Upon boarding his flight from Mexico City to Tijuana his documents, passport & airline ticket were taken from him. His Mexican Passport was the only item returned to him but it was never stamped. How can he get proof that he entered the U.S. legally? Should he file a Freedom of Information Act/REQUEST FOR RECORDS/PRIVACY ACT RELEASE FORM with the U.S. Customs & Border Protection Office? His I-130 was approved but I noted he entered without inspection since he didn't have any documents to prove he entered legally. How can we change this? Thanking u in advance for any information u can give us.

Where can I get my name on foreign passport changed in the U.S.? I have a Vietnam passport, I'm now living in the U.S. and married to a U.S. citizen. An INS agent told me once that if I want to change my last name into my husband's last name and that's how it'll look on my green card I'm going to have to change my last name on my passport as well since it wont make sense if my passport and green card information don't look the same.

What do you think Here's Your "Change " Agents easily get U.S. passports with bogus info another 9-11 ? CBS) Despite government promises to tighten the process of issuing e-Passports, undercover agents had no trouble getting the passports using bogus information, according to the Center for Public Integrity. In one instance, federal agents were able to dupe the State Department by using a dead man's name on an e-Passport application, according to Gregory Kutz, an investigator for the Government Accountability Office, who will testify Thursday to a Senate committee about the matter. This is not the first time undercover agents have blatantly exposed U.S. security holes in obtaining passports. Last year, in a similar test of post-9/11 security, a federal investigator obtained passports using phony documents and the identities of a dead man and a 5-year-old boy. "State’s passport issuance process continues to be vulnerable to fraud," Kutz says in prepared testimony obtained by the CPI. Kutz said his team was able to get the State Department to issue five of the seven e-Passports it requested using fake information. According to the CPI, Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md., who chairs the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security, is introducing legislation Thursday in a bid to fix the security holes exposed by GAO. The legislation would give officials who screen e-Passport applications new authority to access information in sensitive federal, state and other databases to help identify fraudulent applicants, the CPI notes. "The U.S. passport is the gold standard for identification. It certifies an individual’s identity and U.S. citizenship, and allows the passport holder to travel in and out of the United States and to foreign countries, obtain further identification documents, and set up bank accounts," Cardin said. "We simply cannot issue U.S. passports in this country on the basis of fraudulent documents. There is too much at stake." http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/07/29/national/main6724373.shtml

Here I go again, I have met a wonderful Russian lady this time, and of course she loves me, and says she already has a passport, so far she checks out on phone, an other things, but she mentioned she already had a passport, so I figured that would really prove she is up and up, wouldn't it give her age, and name and address? I have those things. where can I get that information, so I know it is not a scam?
Information about moving out of the U.S. to England or Ireland? I currently live in the United States. I have never been outside the country nor do I have a passport. My husband and I were thinking about moving out of the country. Most likely to England or Ireland. Can I obtain a Passport from the U.S. to visit Canada if I have one 'bad' conviction and a medium warrant? I was convicted of New Jersey 3rd Degree 2C:39-5 which is Possession of A Weapon (for a BB Gun which is not a Weapon) and served 2 Years Probation - Superior Court, I hate NJ and other States do not even CHARGE for that, let alone the victim (I was the victim of a crime, and I wore Possession because I could not disprove my vicinity to it at the scene, really messed up, I was the victim, and still am the victim of this ONE State.) I also have a warrant for a 3rd Degree Municipal Court charge, called a Disorderly Persons. May I still obtain a Passport? I was tempted to Drive to Canada (crossing likely at NY Niagara Falls,) but I wonder if the Border Guards will check if my License is OK, or ask for my vehicle credentials. I could fly, I would overcome my fear of planes, but it would be sweet to drive in Canada. I only have that one 'bad' conviction, and it is an NJ-only thing. I want to use the Rush My Passport.com service, and I have all my documents. After I find out WHERE my Father was born, I can fill out DS 11. My question is: 1) Can I be denied, or is the most important thing to establish that I am a Citizen, since I want to take a day trip OUT of the country?, and 2) IF there is a Criminal Search associated with this (is there?,) would I be ARRESTED if I went to submit my Fingerprints and all identifying documents, on a MUNICIPAL Warrant? Would it happen by FEDERAL agents? (Do Federal Passport Anybody care about municipal NJ things) Please let me know, I would like to Visit Canada, and I have heard people say 'Get A Passport While You Still Can.' I would appreciate any answers, and all information that may help me. Thank You. Sincerely, - Joseph C jcorbi82@yahoo.com

I understand the waiting times are very long due to the new regulations for entry into the U.S. If I am only renewing my passport, do I need to go through the entire process or is sending in my passport for renewal acceptable? Thanks for any information you can provide me. Thank you so much for responding! Information certainly appreciated and exactly what I was looking for.
Who verifies the Education and passport information before issuing labour permit? I would like to know who verifies the education degree certificates and passport information, residence address etc. Does this verification gets over before issuing labour permit? Or does it starts after the labour permit is issued and before issuing emp. visa? Why they take long time to issue employment visa after the labour permit is issued? What are the steps which makes this delay? I am talking about Dubai.
Should I use my parent's address or my current apartment address for my passport information? My current apartment address is in my college town where I'm working and taking classes. My work information(including tax information) and my bank account information are all linked to my current apartment's address where I've only been living for two months(after moving out of the dorm i lived in since last september). I'm sure a lot of other information is still linked to my parents address, so which would be best to use for my passport information

What information is included in a passport file? As I recall, the only information they ask for when you apply for a passport is date of birth, place of birth, social security number, name and address. Except for maybe the social security number, isn't all of that information already known for all of the candidates by the media? So can someone explain what the big deal is?
What information is recorded in a passport number? and why do we get different passport numbers when we change our old passport for a new one? although i notice that your date of birth is still in the new number? and what information is stored in the new biometric chip about you? Just curious!
What information is held on your passport? When I go through border/passport control, they swipe my passport electronically. Then it seems like they are reading a whole page of information on me for ages. So what information can they see about us? I don't have a dodgy background or anything, so they must have a lot of other info on me.
Does your passport contain information on your criminal record? My partner and I have booked to go to America and he has a criminal record (nothing serious, drunk and disordley 3 years ago) but he has no time to get a visa now so I wanted to know if his criminal record will show on the computer the Americans use to scan your passport.
What can I do to get information about my passport? I applied for both my passport and my future husband's March 13. At the time they told us that it would be a 10 week processing period, and to call the 1-800 number if I haven't received them within 2 weeks, we are seventeen days from our departure date, and I cannot contact anyone at the 1-800 number! I have called 35 times today and the recorded message states that the call volume is too high and that it won't connect me. It suggests that I check online (I have, and all it says is that my passports are processing) and to call back. We will lose a 2200.00 trip if our passports do not come in..any ideas?

Which will arrive back first from DVLA, licence or passport/supporting information? I've applied for my UK licence and wondering which will arrive back first, passport and supporting documents or the licence itself? Aparantly they send them separately for security reasons... Thanks for the advice! Will check the licence when (and if) it arrives. According to DVLA the licence was printed and posted yesterday but they can't confirm if they posted my passport or if they used the special delivery envelope I supplied (helpful hey!) so getting worried it may be lost.
can i still use my passport information if...? i lost my passport a year ago, i reported it to the passport office, but never filled in the form that they sent home. I was wondering if i can still use my passport information to get my provisional driver's license? or would the passport office not allow this? I know i don't physically have the passport but all the DVLA need is the information from it. Getting the information from my passport gets the license faster!
